Co-Chief Executive Officer
Megan Meade and Nick Scalzo share the helm at The Pacific Financial Group and ProTools.
The two originally joined forces in 2016, with a common vision to expand investor opportunities and bring added confidence to the advisor-client experience. Both recognized the value RiskPro could add as an overlay to TPFG’s existing mutual fund lineup. As a former advisor turned FinTech visionary, Nick’s financial and technical acumen and the RiskPro product were the perfect complement. In late 2017, TPFG and ProTools were formally reorganized, and Megan and Nick became co-CEOs.
In addition to her role helping set strategic direction for the nearly 30-year old registered investment advisory firm, Megan is an Executive Member of the Board of Directors and serves on the Advisory Board at JPMorgan Asset Management. Her leadership is fresh, and her unique vision has kept her employees, investment advisors and clients optimistic about the future of the company.
Prior to forming ProTools and developing RiskPro, Nick founded The Elements Financial Group, LLC (TEG), a multi-strategist Turn-Key Asset Management Program. He was also a co-owner of Claremont Financial Group, an independent registered investment advisory firm. Nick holds the CLU and ChFC designations as well as series 7, 24, 65 and life/health insurance licenses.
With over a quarter century of experience in the financial services industry, Jeff has broad, dynamic experience in a variety of roles helping professional advisors deliver best practices solutions to their clients.
One of the original founders of RiskPro, Jeff, and his business partner Nick Scalzo, were driven by the real-world experiences of clients who struggled to align their perception of investment risk with the traditional definitions used by our industry. Realizing that the system was flawed, they developed RiskPro using a mathematically superior protocol and algorithm to analyze asset volatility and translate that into language that clients could understand and advisors could use to manage expectations.
Previously Jeff served as Regional V.P. with John Hancock Wood Logan. Over his nearly 15-year career at John Hancock, his roles included management of internal sales and marketing for the Western U.S. as well as wholesaling mutual funds, variable annuities and separately managed accounts. He is a past recipient of the Outstanding Sales Achievement Award.
Jeff graduated magna cum laude from the University of California Irvine with a BA in Social Ecology and an emphasis in Psychology.
Chief Revenue Officer
Brooks is a 30-year brokerage industry veteran and serves as RiskPro Chief Revenue Officer. In this role, he is responsible for RiskPro business development and strategic initiatives.
Prior to joining TPFG Brooks served as the Chief Operating Officer for Cantella & Co., Inc. a 65-year-old, broker-dealer and registered investment adviser based in Boston. Cantella provides services to advisors, asset managers, broker-dealers, family offices, registered investment advisers and wealth managers.
Additionally, Brooks was a Managing Director for BNY Mellon Investment Management. BNY Mellon Investment Management is a $1.7 trillion asset management company that goes to market in partnership with its Global Investment Boutiques. Brooks also served as Director of BNY Mellon’s Pershing Boston Regional Office. He oversaw all client relationships and business development for the Northeast region of the United States.
Brooks served as Senior Vice President for Fidelity Investments Institutional Brokerage Group, where he was responsible for New Business Sales, Relationship Management and Bank, Full-Service and Discount Brokerage client market segments.
Brooks received a Bachelor of Science degree in International Business from Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He holds his Series 6, 7, 63, 24 and 4 FINRA licenses.
Chief Product Officer
Glen leads product development for RiskPro. He has 30 years in the Sales and Product Management business, including 11 years as the Vice President of Strategy for a SaaS-based $10MM financial services compensation management and managerial reporting solution. His responsibilities include managing the business development consultants and the internal software development group. Prior to joining RiskPro, Glen was a Strategy Consultant for Beacon Strategies. Before that he held executive leadership positions with Xtiva Financial Systems and payroll services giant ADP. Glen is a member of the Advisory Board at Innvation.com and a graduate of the University of Michigan.
Chief Operations & Administrative Officer
James is responsible for overseeing back office support including finance and accounting, human resources, compliance, legal and IT. He joined the company in 2018 with 35 years of business experience including serving in CFO roles in large multi-national companies and as the Corporate Controller for a publicly traded company with revenues in excess of $2 billion. James is a CPA and Chartered Global Management Accountant. He was a CFO of the Year Honoree in Orange County and included in the OC 500 Directory of Influence in 2017. James received his Bachelor of Commerce, Financial Accounting, Economics, from the University of Cape Town along with his Graduate Diploma Accounting, Financial Accounting, Tax and Audit.
Executive Vice President-Sales
Cory works alongside the sales and product teams to expand adoption and utilization of the next generation of RiskPro. He brings over 20 years of sales expertise, most recently as Executive Vice President of Sales for Orion Portfolio Solutions, where he was responsible for Sales and Relationship Management. Prior to that, Cory was Regional Vice President for FTJ Fundchoice. His professional career began at TD Ameritrade then progressed to various sales positions at Pacific Life and Allstate Financial.
Director of Marketing
Ron leads a team that manages all corporate brand, digital marketing, and public relations activities for the firm. He develops and implements marketing strategies that fuel sales enablement efforts and drives our relationship with broker/dealers and independent RIAs. Ron has held senior marketing roles in financial services, staffing, and professional services including five years with the Private Client Services division of Russell Investments. Ron received an Associates Degree in Graphic Design and his Bachelor of Science in Visual Communications from Western Washington University. He has earned the Certified Business Communicator (CBC) and the Certified Trade Show Marketer (CTSM) designations.
Director, Enterprise Solutions
Julie Mochan came to ProTools in 2015 with 16 years of experience in the securities industry as a registered rep and RIA relationship manager. Her unique expertise in the investment management marketplace made her an ideal fit for ProTools, to represent the voice of the advisor. As the company grew and transformed into RegTech, Julie took on the role of first-person advisor with the RiskPro team of developers. This position was to ensure that the RiskPro user experience equaled success to large firms and advisors alike. In 2018, Julie launched the Virtual Learning and Delivery Division of RiskPro. Her education includes such beacons of higher learning as Shippensburg University, Disney University, and most recently, “The University of” YouTube.
